About Me
I built Watchlist Wizard from scratch because I was frustrated by the same problem every streaming subscriber knows: you sit down to watch something, open three apps, scroll for twenty minutes, and end up watching nothing new.
Existing solutions — algorithmic recommendations, generic top-10 lists, crowdsourced ratings — all solved a slightly different problem than the one I actually had. I wanted something that understood mood, not just genre. Something I could ask "give me a tense thriller under two hours on a service I actually pay for" and get a real answer.
So I built it. Over years of iteration, Watchlist Wizard grew from a personal tool into an editorial publication that combines curated recommendations with original reviews, ranked lists, and contextual movie analysis.
Editorial Philosophy
Every piece of content on this site reflects a point of view. I don't believe in neutral aggregation — if every list is just "highest rated on TMDB," there's no reason to publish it. Our reviews express genuine opinions. Our lists are built with editorial reasoning. Our recommendations come from actual viewing experience.
The goal is simple: be the kind of knowledgeable friend who gives you specific, honest, and actually helpful recommendations.
